Full Professor at NOVA where she has lectured: “EU IMP and Blue Growth”; “Regionalisation Theories”; “Regionalism, Nationalism and Federalism”; “European Economy”.
Expert on the UN Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment, including Socioeconomic Aspects.
Authored more than 30 scientific peer-reviewed journal articles (10 with index factor) and 2 books. Researcher at the “European Policies Research Centre” (EPRC) and the London School of Economics, for DG Regio. Investigator in other EU projects (Interreg Sudoe and Atlantic Space).
Member of several EU professional associations (European Regional Science Association - ERSA, European Association of Geographers – EUROGEO, Salzburg Global Seminar).
Ph. D. in Economics (LSE, 1998) and in Geography (NOVA, 1993). Officer at the European Commission (1988-1990).

Francesca Savoldi
Researcher at at CICS-NOVA – Research Centre in Social Sciences - NOVA University of Lisbon.
With a background in human geography and urban planning, her work has engaged with topics including port cities and maritime policy, post-conflict cities, gentrification, gender equality in urban space and communication technology.
PhD in Human Geography (NOVA University of Lisbon, 2018). She holds a BA in Urban Planning from the Polytechnic of Milan, as well as a master degree in GIS and Remote Sensing from the Univesity of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).

Abel Simões
Specialized in technology and nautical sciences, marine electrical and telecommunications systems and doctorate in e-planning at FCSH-UNL, with the defense of the thesis, entitled "e-Planning as an Instrument in the Construction of the Sea Cluster in Portugal Quantification, Participation and Involvement of the National Socioeconomic Sectors "(2013).
Antonio Rebelo de Sousa
António Jorge Duarte Rebelo de Sousa is an economist. President of several organisations including the American Commission of the Portuguese Geographic Society (Sociedade de Geografia), Fiscal Council of the Lisbon Club (Clube de Lisboa), Benjamin Franklin Institute (Instituto Benjamin Franklin) and the Administrative Council of SOFID - Society for the Financing of Development - Credit Finance Institution, SA (SOFID - Sociedade para o Financiamento do Desenvolvimento - Instituição Financeira de Crédito, SA) (elected on General Assembly of May 12, 2010). He is also Director of the magazine «Revista Energia & Futuro». He published numerus books, such as: 'A América e a Inovação: Desafios Estratégicos no Contexto Internacional' (2017) 'Da Economia' (2017) 'Contextos de Segurança - Análises e Perspectivas' (2017).
